Yorkshire and Humber local authority briefings on age and ethnic group population projections
YHPHO has become part of Public Health England, joining its Knowledge and Intelligence Team (Northern and Yorkshire).
These briefings have been produced jointly by Yorkshire and Humber Public Health
Observatory (YHPHO) and the School of Geography, University of Leeds. The briefings
summarise some of the key findings from a new set of age and ethnic group specific
local authority level population projections, produced by the University of
Leeds, as part of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC’s)
Understanding Population Trends and Processes (UPTAP) programme (released in
July 2010): Working

The ER projections are determined by treating emigration as a product of emigration
rates and populations at risk, rather than as gross flows (the EF model). A
