NHS Atlas of Variation in Healthcare for People with Diabetes (live 14th June 2012)
We are pleased to announce the publication of the NHS Atlas of Variation in Healthcare for People with Diabetes – this is the latest in a series of themed atlases published by NHS Right Care, and has been developed in collaboration with Diabetes Health Intelligence (YHPHO) under the auspices of the National Diabetes Information Service (NDIS).
The 22 indicators in the Atlas reveal unwarranted variation in diabetes healthcare services, however, the accompanying commentaries highlight opportunities for commissioners and clinicians to improve health outcomes, minimise inequalities and enhance the overall “value” of healthcare for people with diabetes.
Should the information in this publication raise issues that you would like to investigate in more detail at a local level, NDIS is happy to work with the organisations concerned. Please contact us to discuss this further.
The interactive atlas online and downloadable pdfs (high-res and low-res) of the Atlas are available on the Right Care website, www.rightcare.nhs.uk/atlas. It is also possible to order further printed copies through the website. (Available from Thursday 14th June 2012 ).
