Networks
YHPHO does not exist in isolation. It is in an integral
part of the public health community in the Yorkshire and Humber
region. The PHO will continue to develop strong links with the Government
Office Regional Public Health Group, the Health Development Agency,
the Health Protection Agency, Yorkshire Futures, Yorkshire &
Humber Assembly, Yorkshire Forward, Cancer Registries and the academic
community. The PHO must make a significant contribution to the information
and public health intelligence underpinning Local Strategic Partnerships
(LSPs).
It will achieve this partly through the existing public health
networks within the region. Support to Strategic Health Authorities
in their performance development role will be required in the area
of health inequalities. Support to PCT Directors of Public Health
will be required in areas such as the production of information
for Annual Reports. The PHO will have a central role in bringing
together public health information analysis expertise throughout
the region, helping to share good practice and scarce expertise.
