Purpose of the event

  • To support local organisations in understanding how high quality health intelligence can support cost-effective commissioning
  • To inform local organisations of the range of key national, regional and local initiatives aimed at improving the health intelligence base for supporting cost effective commissioning in Yorkshire and the Humber
  • To identify current gaps in the intelligence base and agree development priorities within the region

  • Representatives from clinical networks
  • Statutory, voluntary and independent organisations providing health and social care services
  • Health intelligence teams
  • Academics interested in health intelligence and commissioning

  • Information Centre – How the IC can best support commissioning
  • National projects and tools - Health Inequalities Interventions Tool, Programme Budgeting,Child Health/Children's services mapping projects
  • .....Plus examples from within the region from the PHO, local PCTs and others
At the last HIN seminar

The aim of this seminar was to bring together key local and national organisations to share knowledge and to explore and debate the development of health intelligence across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The session provided the opportunity for:

  • YHPHO to share its vision for health intelligence in Yorkshire and Humber;
  • Delegates to start to set the dimensions and discuss the models for a local and regional health intelligence function;
  • Delegates to consider options to ensure appropriate health intelligence in their local geographical patch, for instance, to meet the PCT Fitness for Purpose Programme.
